Having decided, after about my first 5 minutes on a snowboard, that learning with a camera wasn't such a bright idea, I reluctantly decided to make to with the little-used camera of my smartphone to record my time on the slopes. I only buy the smallest possible Samsung phones, which don't have great cameras by today's standards, but under hard sunlight you can still get half-decent decent black & white exposures out of them.
